EU Settlement scheme
From the 21 January 2019 the EU Settlement Scheme will be opened to most EU citizens.
After several pilots the EU Settlement scheme will now be open more widely from 21 January 2019.
Use of the app is still a requirement for this phase so it is only open to those with biometric passports and residency cards.
From 21 January 2019, EU citizens, as well as their non-EU citizen family members who hold a valid biometric residence card, will be able to apply for the immigration status they will need once the UK has left the EU.
The EU Settlement Scheme is to be fully opened by 30 March 2019, and EU citizens will have until 30 June 2021 to apply for the Settlement Scheme under the draft Withdrawal Agreement.
