Zego gives 2 weeks free insurance for gig economy workers
Zego, the fast-growing InsurTech start-up, has offered 14 days’ worth of free cover to customers suspected of having COVID-19.
Zego provides flexible insurance policies for fleet businesses and new mobility services, and as the first InsurTech in the UK to be awarded its own insurance licence, it can create and sell its own policies and work with partner insurers.
Most of its customers are in the gig economy, which is particularly hit by the effects of the current pandemic. So, to help those forced to self-isolate and alleviate any financial strain, Zego used the flexibility of its model to enable customers who have fallen ill or suspect they have COVID-19 to claim two weeks of free cover when renewing policies.
