Carrie Gwyther

Carrie is a solicitor in the Commercial Disputes team, and assists on a variety of corporate, insurance and sports disputes.

Carrie also works with the Education department and assists a number of primary and secondary schools with their enquiries, with a recent focus on Freedom of Information Requests and Data Subject Access Requests.

Prior to starting at Capital Law, Carrie undertook pro-bono work for the Welsh Rugby Union and advised on commercial property disputes. She also assisted in the writing of a chapter for the book ‘Great Christian Jurists in English History’, published by Cambridge University Press.

  • Assisting in a £multi-million claim for breach of trust involving the payment of monies out of an escrow account for the investment in property in the Caribbean
  • Assisting in a £multi-million transfer dispute between two high-profile football clubs
  • Assisting with an enquiry into shares held by an AIM broker and tracing ownership of those shares through CREST, placing and trading accounts
  • Advising on a dispute with a local Council regarding a fuel leak from a petrol station
  • Advising a secondary school on a large data subject access request made by a former pupil
