Our clients come to us because we know what it takes to get a development out of the ground and through to completion. And if things aren’t working out, we can help them navigate the issues.
We’re experts at drafting and negotiating all forms of construction and engineering contracts. This includes advising on the obligatory list of model form contracts (like JCT, NEC3, NEC4, and FIDIC) as well as on more specialist contracts (like IChemE, ICC, ACE, ACA, and MF/1).
It’s not only the contractual drafting that we like to help with. If we’re involved at the outset of the project, we can advise on project structure and procurement strategy. Whether it’s a straightforward £5million design and build, or a complex, multi-phased £1billion infrastructure project, we’ll be happy to give our input. We can even advise on the Welsh Mutual Investment Model (MIM) funded projects).
We also know that not all projects go according to plan.
We’re on hand to help with strategic discussions and commercial positioning with a view to avoiding formal disputes. If a dispute is unavoidable, or if you find yourself in one before having the opportunity to talk to us, we are experienced and known in the market for representing parties in construction disputes. We frequently represent clients in adjudication, arbitration (domestic or international), mediation and litigation.
And to help you develop your own knowledge, we can deliver bespoke training sessions covering contracts, payment in construction projects and dispute avoidance, or whatever else you’d like to learn about.
